Jose Meza loves playing Scratchers®, so the long-time lottery player was ecstatic after recently winning $200 on a ticket. So, what do you think he did? He used part of that win to purchase a $20 Crossword Deluxe Scratchers. Meza’s lucky streak continued when that ticket matched 10 words to earn him the top prize of $2 million!
“It can’t be,” Meza said to himself. After revealing the 10 words, he went to a Lottery retailer and used the Check-A-Ticket scanner to verify his win. Meza was in such disbelief that on his way home he stopped at a gas station to scan the ticket one more time. And sure enough, it was a big winner.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Smoke Stop, which is located at 50 Sandcreek Road, Suite #26 in Brentwood. Due to the amount of this prize, the store is set to receive a retailer bonus of $10,000 from the Lottery just for selling that winning ticket. (The retailer bonus is not subtracted from the winner’s jackpot prize.)
California’s newest millionaire said he plans on using his winnings to buy a house and pay for his kids’ schooling.
