  • $750,000 Scratchers® Winning Ticket Sold in Redwood City!

  • It was no mystery to the employees of our East Bay District office that Francisco Marquez was a big winner. That’s because Marquez walked in holding a $10 Mystery Crossword Scratchers ticket worth the top prize of $750,000!

The San Mateo County resident picked up the lucky ticket last week after a long day at work. After going home and spending about thirty minutes scratching and examining the crossword ticket, Marquez couldn’t believe his eyes. But after checking the ticket over multiple times, the reality of the big win began to sink in. “I started to cry” said Marquez, “I was thinking about how I was going to help my family.” Marquez said he and his family currently live in a small apartment, so he would like to use his winnings to buy them a little house with a bit more room.

Marquez purchased his lucky ticket at Brenda’s Liquors, which is located at 2397 Spring Street in Redwood City (San Mateo County).

The $10 Mystery Crossword Scratchers are part of the Lottery’s continued effort to give out more prizes, create more winners and earn more money for public education.
