2nd Chance Claim Process
Claiming your 2nd Chance prize is easy. Just follow the 4 simple steps.
Step 1
The California Lottery will notify you via email to sign into your account for an important 2nd Chance update. When you sign into your 2nd Chance account, you’ll see your prize and will be provided with a link to a 2nd Chance Claim Form.
Step 2
Download and print the 2nd Chance Claim Form (PDF).
Step 3
Fill out the claim form, and don't forget to sign it! To find out what you'll need to complete the form, review the ‘2nd Chance Claim Process’ section on the Claim A Prize page.
Step 4
Decide how you want to claim. There are two options for claiming your prize: claim at a California Lottery District Office, or claim by mail.
Option 1: Claim at your local California Lottery District Office
California Lottery district offices are open to the public for the acceptance of claims. See all District Office locations here.
For in-person window service:
- Follow the steps above for completing your claim form.
- Keep a copy or picture of the claim form for your records.
- Please bring current identification (California ID card, California driver’s license, passport, etc.).
Option 2: Mail your 2nd Chance Claim Form
Follow the steps above for completing your 2nd Chance Claim Form(s). Mail the signed claim form to:

We recommend sending everything by certified mail and saving a copy of every claim form that you submit. The California Lottery is not responsible for mail or claim forms that are late, lost, damaged, misdirected, misaddressed, incomplete, or illegible.
The claiming period for prizes may vary by promotion. Refer to the specific Promotion Rules for details.
State law prohibits the sale of a California Lottery ticket or the payment of a prize to anyone younger than 18 years of age. Tickets failing validation are void.
All California State Lottery game tickets, transactions, claims, and prize payments are subject to California State law and the California State Lottery rules and regulations. By participating, you agree to comply with all laws and California Lottery rules and regulations.
